Album cover art has become an important part of music and pop culture. Album cover design is an art form and allows the musician greater control over the content and an important avenue in which to express themselves.
An album cover can conjure up emotions about the music, the styles of the time and your fantasies at the time. It is the cover that sets the tone for everything else. Album artwork is as varied as the music it covers.
I was smitten with David Archuleta's new album cover "The Other Side of Down". As he is the center of the eye catching imagery it displays his stunning good looks, a relaxed playful mood with confidence and a smile of satisfaction for hard work accomplished.
Covers are known for displaying artistic messages. This cover shows me David is proud and eager for his fans to hear this album, an album that he did his way which reflects his emotions and soul. Things can get crazy but life is good, life is great.
There is just so much you can do with a five inch by five inch plastic case and David gave us just enough.
We can relate to David's music, loved gained, love lost, happiness and sorrow as we all have gone through that in life. He feels things deeply and he expresses these feelings beautifully through his music.
Fans are a huge part of him they motivate him everyday with comments, messages and twitters. He says his fans motivate his performances and last night in South Carolina at Zoo-A-Palooza, he proved his motivation with his rendition of "Crazy" and his new song "Elevator". He also delighted the crowd with "Crush" and his acoustical performance of "Something 'Bout Love".
David has a voice so smooth it could melt butter. His voice is exact and assured. He is definitely a natural charmer, a signature charmer that gives his fans sweet dreams at night. As talented as he is it doesn't take much for David to impress his fans, a quick smile a random quote or his long overdue giggle in one of his blogs is all it takes.
Anyone can catch your eye, but it takes someone special like David to catch your heart. Source | |
